The week kicked off with PJ day for our Boosterthon Pledge-O-Meter prize and no homework that night! HUGE DAY for fun for the kids!
We also did a messy fun experiment yesterday to show how erosion works and how important plants are to our soil and planet. We are writing lab reports, so we will be doing experiments and writing our data, questions, and conclusions in our science notebooks.
Today's IMAX field trip today went well! We saw the Humpback Whales IMAX film which enhances three of our units: Animal Life Cycles in our Who We Are Unit, How We Affect and Depend on our Environment in our Sharing the Planet Unit, and a preview of our upcoming Sound unit which is How We Express Ourselves coming at the beginning of the year.
You can ask your student some questions about the movie: Why were the whales almost gone? How did people help to bring them back? What have scientists learned from studying whales? How do you know that whales are mammals? What is something we can all do to help whales?
